Helping cattle stay on track through transition
Receiving
Shipping is one of the most stressful events cattle face, with transportation, co-mingling, and vaccination all challenging the immune system and overall health. Transportation can deplete levels of critical trace minerals in calves and increase the need for supplementation. Stressed animals are also prone to decreased appetites, which can reduce trace mineral intake — particularly in the first 10 days after arrival.
Trace minerals like those found in Multimin® 90 (zinc, copper, manganese, and selenium injection), the only FDA-approved injectable trace mineral supplement, help cattle respond more effectively to vaccines,1 supporting immunity and better health. Injectable trace minerals are absorbed into the bloodstream within 8-10 hours,2 allowing you to work quickly to address cattle’s supplementation needs. Strategic supplementation with the trace minerals in Multimin 90 can help to ensure that cattle stay healthy upon arrival and beyond.
In addition to depleting trace minerals, the stress of transportation and new environments can disrupt feed intake, rumen balance, and increase the risk of acidosis due to lactic acid buildup. Lactipro® rapidly replenishes Megasphaera elsdenii (Mega e®), a naturally occurring rumen microbe that consumes lactic acid, protecting rumen health, fueling steady gains, and smoothing transitions without setbacks.

Diet transition
Transitioning cattle from forage-based diets to higher-energy feeds is a critical step in preparing them for the feedlot phase. Rapid diet changes can disrupt rumen balance, leading to acidosis, reduced feed intake, and lost performance. Careful feed transitions support consistent gains and keep cattle on track for target weights.
Lactipro delivers a live population of Mega e to immediately consume lactic acid in the rumen, protecting rumen health during diet changes. By stabilizing the microbial environment, Lactipro helps cattle adapt to higher-grain diets faster and more smoothly—reducing digestive setbacks and supporting steady, efficient growth.
SAFETY
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION FOR MULTIMIN® 90: Not for use in humans, keep out of reach of children. Multimin 90 has a preslaughter withdrawal time of 14 days after injection. Do not use in pre-ruminant calves as safety and withdrawal period have not been established. Do not use during the first trimester of pregnancy as safety has not been established. Selenium and copper are toxic if administered in excess and may lead to sudden death, depression, weakness, ataxia, salivation, and drooling. Do not use concurrently with other selenium or copper injections or boluses. Maximum volume per injection site is 7 mL. Allow a minimum of 30 days before considering repeat dosing. See prescribing information.
