Research results indicated supplementation of trace minerals by Multimin 90 injection at time of vaccination resulted in higher average BVDV1 antibody titers on day 28, following a booster. This higher response was associated with 80% of calves reaching antibody levels considered protective, versus 53% of the control group. This leads to enhanced immune function and better vaccine ROI.

Enhances protection in high-stress periods

Stress can arise in many situations in a dairy animal’s life, such as: weaning, transportation, breeding, calving, or vaccination.

A university study2 indicated that supplementing pregnant heifers with Multimin 90, along with a scours vaccine before calving, resulted in increased colostrum quality in heifers by increasing specific antibodies. Calves consuming the higher quality colostrum tended to have more specific antibodies against scour-causing viruses than control calves.

Supports udder health

The average case of clinical mastitis in the United States costs at least $400, including both direct costs, such as therapeutics or non-saleable milk, and indirect costs, such as future production or reproductive loss.4

University research results showed5 that when a single injection of Multimin 90 was given to dairy cows with elevated somatic cell counts, there was reduced incidence of chronic clinical mastitis, particularly in first lactation cows. Additionally, in cows with three or more lactations, subclinical mastitis treatment success was increased.

In another university study, research results showed3 a reduction in somatic cell counts, decreased clinical mastitis in multi-lactation cows, and decreased subclinical mastitis when cows were supplemented with zinc, copper, manganese and selenium by Multimin 90 injection at dry-off, 30 days pre-calving, and 35 days in milk.
